Making Small Changes But A Big Difference

Part of eating well is looking at what you're doing right now and making the required adjustments to turn it into something good. While this may feel like starvation, it allows you to sustain a consistent eating style yet focus on improving the nutritional value of your meals. This is a shift in mindset as anything else.
For example, if you're used to eating a burger for lunch, it may be a good idea to turn to a tuna or chicken sandwich on granary bread. The idea remains the same — meat, pasta, seasoning — and if it appears a bit tasteless in contrast, there's a tonne you can do with garlic, paprika or a range of other mild spices.
To many people, the thought of replacing a candy bar with an apple or a bag of crisps with a bowl of fruit and nuts is insanity, and they will never consider it. Nevertheless, if the apples are not for you, there are a wide variety of fruits that are filled with flavour and nutrients. None of this means that you will never eat candy again. It means that we are simply switching out to healthier alternatives when we can.

Also think about the part that soft drinks play in your diet. If you can replace a few soft drinks every week with a glass of water or fruit juice, then you will see a big difference in your energy levels. It may seem boring, but there really is no better taste on a hot day than an ice-cold glass of water.
